COURSE OUTLINE

Building on the concepts presented in the In-Depth Tax Course, this intermediate course explores the basic issues surrounding the taxation of foreign operations and effective planning strategies for minimizing tax for businesses that have expanded, or are considering expanding, outside of Canada

Chartered Accountants and other professionals who:

    • In specialized advisory firm practices
    • In general firms with cross-border client files
  • Are responsible (internally) for the international taxation affairs of Canadian businesses

PREREQUISITE

Applicants should have completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course – Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent). In addition, the individual should be employed in an international tax specialty group. Alternatively, applicants should have at least two years of post in-depth experience and be working in an environment focusing on corporate taxation and cross-border transactions.
